BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – It’s that time of our year again when the Franklin R. Sousley Marine Corps League is taking donations for Toys for Tots.
Last year, the Marine Corps distributed nearly 80,000 toys to 11,000 children. This year, they’re back at the Walmart at Campbell Lane, hoping to beat last year’s numbers.
Many agencies are involved in collection, including the Bowling Green Fire Department, the Warren County Sheriff’s Office, and the Bowling Green Police Department.
In an interview with News 40, Bowling Green Police spokesperson Ronnie Ward said he’s glad the department helps every year because it’s such a great organization that impacts the community so well.
At Walmart on Campbell Lane on November 26 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., the Marine Corps, along with other community heroes, will be outside to receive new toy donations. Participating locations will also take in toys if you can’t make it on the day itself. The organization asks that all toys be new and packaged.
