EU and UNDP launch campaign to raise awareness of mental health issues in Ukraine

The European Union and UNDP have launched a new information campaign, ‘Better to know about’, aimed at raising awareness of mental health issues in Ukraine and mobilizing efforts to support them.

Frederik Coene, head of cooperation at the EU delegation to Ukraine, said the public health issue is as urgent as the rapid humanitarian response. “We already see that long-term strategies of competent psychological support will be needed to support the victims of the war in Ukraine and minimize the impact on mental health.” he said. “We are doing everything we can to ensure that high-quality psychological care is available to people, including vulnerable populations, throughout the country.”

The campaign also includes a series of short videos on psychological first aid, how to help someone going through a panic attack, how to support the grieving process and how to manage anxiety and stress through exercise.
