Please note that you cannot use store-specific gift cards. Only prepaid cards from credit card companies such as Visa, Mastercard, American Express and Discover will work.

You can add a prepaid Visa, Mastercard, American Express or Discover gift card to your PayPal account after logging in by going to Wallet > Link a debit or credit card > Manually link a card > Enter the information on the card > click on Link card.

Add gift cards to PayPal
If you have a prepaid Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover or similar gift card, you can add it to your PayPal account as a means of payment. Here’s how to do it:
- Log in to your PayPal account and click Wallet go to your PayPal wallet.
- click on Connect a debit or credit card.
- To elect Link a card manually if you are asked if you want to link manually or via a bank.
- Enter the information on the prepaid gift card into the form.
- click on Link card.
After you complete these steps, your prepaid card should appear as a payment method in your PayPal account. If you get an error message that you can’t use your gift card because it doesn’t contain personal identification information, there should be instructions on your card to register it.
