Kentucky’s Tshiebwe misses second game with knee injury

LEXINGTON, Kentucky (AP) – Kentucky senior forward Oscar Tshiebwe, named national player of the year last season, was sidelined for a second straight game for the fourth-placed Wildcats on Friday night against Duquesne.

Although the 6-foot-9 Tshiebwe (right knee) and second-year forward Daimion Collins (personal reasons) were out againsenior point guard Sahvir Wheeler entered the game with 14:41 remaining in the first half after missing Monday’s 95-63 win over Howard with a right leg injury.

Tshiebwe, from the Democratic Republic of Congo, underwent knee surgery last month and was hoping to be ready for the opening game. There was no immediate word on whether Tshiebwe would return for Tuesday night’s game against Michigan State at the Champions Classic in Indianapolis.
