‘This is just awful..’ – Martina Navratilova makes a sad plea when unhappy news about Brittney Griner is released

Martina Navratilova calls for Brittney Griner to return to US from Russia

Navratilova used her Twitter to appeal to the US government to bring basketball player Brittney Griner back to the US. A Russian court rejected an appeal against his nine-year sentence. White House press secretary Karin Jean Pierre said the government is seriously trying to get the player back to the US. Furthermore, Navratilova took to Twitter to share the news. Along with that, she stated, “This is just awful… bring Brittney home please!!!!”

The famous basketball player is an eight-time center starring for the WNBA’s Phoenix Mercury. Not only that, she is also a two-time Olympic gold medalist.

She was found with vape cans carrying cannabis oil in her luggage. Furthermore, she appealed to the court claiming that she had packed them in a hurry and did not intend to create any crime.
