Louisville Football Bowl Projections After Week 9

LET’S GO BOLICY!!!

Being eligible for the bowl with three games still on the calendar isn’t something I think many of us expected to see after the inexplicable loss at Boston College. But here we are! Guaranteed to watch the cards play over the holidays and with even more to play this regular season.

Louisville’s victory over James Madison, you guessed it, allowed ESPN’s FPI projections to improve. His projected record is still 7-5, but his win total has risen to 7.4 wins. Here’s how the FPI projects Louisville’s odds of winning each of the remaining games:

#10 Clemson – 23.8% (18.5% last week)

#16 NC State – 65.3% (63.5% last week)

#24 Kentucky – 52.25% (49.4% last week)

Winning even one more game will be a challenge with Louisville’s remaining three points all currently ranked. But along with most reviews, most fans have the Cards going 1-2 to finish the season.

Louisville is also ranked in the Top 25 of this week’s composite analysis rankings:

However, you may notice that a certain team in our remaining lineup is not ranked.

As we get closer to the bowl station and there are fewer variables remaining, the bowl projections tend to become easier toโ€ฆ..design. So I won’t be surprised if we start to see a lot of similar predictions moving forward.

Still hopeful for the New Year in El Paso, but it seems increasingly likely that we’ll be playing New Year’s in sunny Annapolis, Maryland.
