Last weekend at Phoenix Raceway, Ty Gibbs claimed an inaugural Xfinity Series title. Admittedly, he has been quite a controversial figure, but no one can deny his talent. He said, “Obviously watching our guys. Ty Gibbs’ #54 was super fast. So I knew right away on Friday, that if he gets the lead and it gets clear, gets some car lengths, he’s gone. That’s how the race unfolded. We threw everything at him, and he got over it, man! He ran clean, smart. The former NASCAR driver confessed that he was completely fine with his team being a little aggressive. After all, they were fighting for an Xfinity Series championship. So the likes of Noah Gragson, Justin Allgaier and Josh Berry practically had free rein in the Phoenix race. However, Dale Earnhardt Jr cautioned against overdoing it with his aggressive tactics.

he continued, “Here’s how I felt about it, I wouldn’t have cared one bit if they had walked out the door of #54. Get him off the track, whatever it is. I just didn’t want them to turn his back to the wall. I didn’t want them backing him up against the fence or knocking him down. I sure wanted them to throw him in the dirt or lock him up.
